The Rare Upright Laceleaf Japanese Maple

‘Seiryu’ is one of the most distinctive Japanese maples you can grow. Unlike nearly every other laceleaf Japanese maple, which develops a low, cascading form, ‘Seiryu’ grows upright into an elegant small tree.

Its finely dissected leaves give the canopy an exceptionally delicate, airy texture. New spring foliage emerges bright green with reddish tips, becoming fresh green through summer before transforming into a spectacular autumn display of gold, orange, scarlet and crimson.

At approximately 6 feet tall in a #10 container, these are substantial young specimens ready to make an immediate statement in the landscape.

‘Seiryu’ combines two characteristics rarely found together: the delicate foliage of a laceleaf maple and the upright stature of a tree-form Japanese maple.
