Helleborus foetidus – Evergreen Hellebore (2 Plants)

An elegant evergreen hellebore prized for its architectural foliage and early-season flowers.

Helleborus foetidus forms handsome mounds of deeply divided, dark green foliage that provide year-round structure in the shade garden. In late winter to early spring, clusters of nodding, pale green flowers rise above the foliage, bringing subtle color and interest when little else is blooming.

Especially beautiful in woodland gardens, beneath deciduous trees, along shaded borders, or planted in groups, this long-lived perennial combines wonderfully with other hellebores, ferns, epimediums, and spring bulbs.

You will receive 2 LARGE, well-established plants, approximately quart size, with developed root systems. These are substantially larger than our typical starter plants and are ready to make an immediate presence in the garden.

Good to Know

Despite its common name, “stinking hellebore,” the plant does not make the garden smell unpleasant. The name refers to an odor that may be released when the foliage is crushed.
