Plant Size:
Plants are shipped without pots. Most varieties are starter plants measuring approximately 4–10 inches tall in most cases (depending on variety, season, and stage of growth).

Plants sold in sets of 2 are generally larger than plants sold in sets of 3. Sets of 3 offer exceptional value and often include fast-growing varieties that may bloom during their first season when planted in spring or early summer.

Seasonal Plant Appearance

Please keep in mind that live plants naturally change in appearance throughout the growing season. Plants received in late summer or fall may look different from plants pictured or shipped in spring and early summer.

Depending on the variety and time of year, plants may be shorter, have fewer leaves, show yellowing or browning foliage, have finished flowering, or be beginning their natural dormancy. Some perennials may have already been cut back for the season. These seasonal changes are normal and do not indicate an unhealthy plant.

Product photos generally show plants during their peak growing or flowering season for reference. The health of late-season perennial plants is best determined by the condition of the roots and crown, rather than the amount or appearance of top growth.

When properly planted and cared for, healthy late-season plants will establish their roots, go dormant for winter where applicable, and return with fresh new growth in spring.
